Using Ringtones


Both Acrobits Softphone and Groundwire allow you to customize the ringtones. You can set a universal ringtone for all your SIP Accounts. Or set specific ones for each SIP Account so you know which account has a call as soon as you hear the ring.

To set a universal ringtone, do the following.

1. Tap on settings, then preferences, then Ringtones.

2. You have two different preferences you can set. Foreground is the ringtone you will hear when you receive a call and the Softphone (or Groundwire) is in the foreground. For Foreground, you can select one of our ringtones or choose something from your media library.

3. Push is the ringtone you will hear if you receive a call through Push Notifications or backgrounding. Please note, we do not have access to your Media Library for Notifications so you will need to select one of our ringtones for this setting.

To set an account specific ringtone, do the following.

1. Tap on settings, then SIP Accounts, then your SIP account. Tap on advanced settings, then Ringtones.

2. By default, both options will be set to 'Use Global Setting'. This means it will use the ringtone you have selected in the preferences. Make any changes you want to apply only to this account here.

Note: If using CallKit, the volume is attached to the volume for native ringtones. If CallKIT is off, then adjust the volume for the ringtone by raising or lowering the volume while the Softphone (or Groundwire) is actually ringing.
